heavy clutch at high speed/rpm

First off, I just had the slave and accumulator replaced a few days ago, so not sure whats up. Today I let the engine rev down in 3rd gear from red line for a few seconds then shift and had no hydraulic assist for the clutch (much much harder than car off with a bad accumulator). This happened later consistently when running out 5th to redline then shifting. In either case as soon as I shift I can press the clutch in within seconds and its normal.

A friend suggested very high heat in the fluid at those rpms/speed for an extended period (full throttle in 5th though, not just holding it up there) could be causing it. I know this can't be that common/'normal' because it did it every time at the end of 5th and I can't find any threads about this.

My ps resevoir *may* have overflowed but I'm not sure, since my slave and accumulator were bad the black plastic was already warped and sticky from the fluid even after cleaning it up this week. I'm not low on pentosin so if it did it wasn't much.

This happened on a car cruise with some other dallas folk today during spirited driving for an extended period of time (first noticed about 2 hours into the drive, but did not get a chance to take 5th out early on in the drive) in the 100* heat. Car is still pretty new to me and this was the first chance I had to actually take 5th near redline, so I don't know how much was due to high ambient temps along with hard driving.

Could be air in the lines or bad accumulator

I was thinking possibly air as well - even though the accumulator's for our cars are crap, I can't imagine it going bad after a few days - the new slave and accumulator had less than 100 miles on them before this trip. The system was just bled in conjunction with the new parts so maybe thats it...

I would have the dealer look at it again and rule out air and replaced parts. Seems hydralic.

Sounds familiar. When I had my slave and accumulator warranteed last year, it took 2 dealers, 1 flatbed ride and 3 days to bleed all the air from my system. Stupid cars...

Bleeding is really pretty easy with a motive bleeder. Air pressure only on the clutch res. cap, pushes fluid with gusto out the slave bleeder. Top off and go.
I bet you may have another bad part(s). Heck I'm on my 3rd fuel pump in less than 20k.
