Will GT3076's kill my ET's or GT2's?

Ladies,

I'm contemplating the move to GT3076's. Do you think my ET's in the 1/4 will go down? I'm sure my traps will be up, but, I don't want to hurt my 1/4 mile ET's. I'm fairly certain I can hit mid 10's given some cooler weather with these 18g's. But what about low 10's or even high 9's with the 30's?

Anyone know of a tip with 30's running the quarter? Not really worried about the tranny, I've got that covered. So, if you're a tip hater (booster boy), you won't be helping the situation. I've got a couple GT2's around town I need to teach a lesson or two.

Todd, you have a very fast car my friend right now. If you put the GT30's then you have to watch the boost and worried about internals. People are already blowing things up with a built motor. Just wait for the right time and upgrade unless the itch for more power has already kicked in:eek:

Good point Art.

Per our discussion today Todd....your power curve will shift to the right (higher in the RPM range). The question is simply this...will your stall allow you to get enough RPM to start getting into boost on the brake, enough for it to allow a strong launch...???

I don't think you'll be hittin 9's with some 30's.

Todd you should buy Chris's kit, it will get you high 13X's if not 14X's. There gt30/76's but the will spool faster then a t3 flange gt30/76 which will help with the auto since it will bring the boost in while on the stall. What ever turbo's you do, a 9 sec pass unlikely due to how much power it take. (Unless you have Jesus aka Bobby driving it)

do you really want to mix a manly mans turbo w/ a sissy boy tranny:p

Tell me more about this kit Matt. Why do they spool quicker?

All I know is, the SL 65 Black uses the same tranny with over 750lbs of torque. It will be ok.

Todd basically the reason for the faster spool is because I have a K24 hotside which has the equiv. to like a .44-50 a/r which will allow for a lot quicker spool. The GT3076 that Sean has a .63 a/r wheel which is going to spool slower than mine, and if someone tries to sell you a .82 a/r 3076 then they are really smoking crack. A .82 a/r will really be the laggiest, and I would not suggest it esp since you have a Tip and are worried about building boost on the stall.

Something to think about I had 7 more mph than you in the 1/8th mile which is somewhat due to me being a 6speed, but if you could go 107-109 in the 1/8th you'll go 140-142mph in the cold weather. 9s will be really hard because it does take a lot to get there, but I don't see why you couldn't go 10.3s or 10.4s without a problem.

Just challenge the GT2's to a 1/4 mile race from a dig. I am thinking you will get them both.

Todd,

The first thing you should do is get a secondary fuel pump. You have upgraded IC's, right?

If you are going to GT 30's, do it right the first time...get external waste gates and a tune (delete 02's, cats) for C 16.
