click noise on salve cylinder

Oups, i meant slave cylinder in the title, can't edit it.

I have been changing my clutch and before i put everything back together, i tried the clutch. When i start pressing the pedal, and i mean very little, like 1/4 to 1/2 inch, i get a click from under the car. So went under and had someone push the clutch for me so i could hear where it was from and it seems to be coming from the slave cylinder. When i put my hand on top of it, i can feel and hear the click.

It didn't do it before i changed the clutch. Anyone ever had that happen? Is that a sign of a slave that is going bad? i was perfectly fine before i messed with it for the clutch swap.

thanks for any help.

On my way to Quebec city wednesday I saw a black Porsche on a lift while driving on the 132. I cannot remember what village it was.... Was it yours?

I replace my slave and got the old one on my workbench and cannot see what can make that kind of noise. The only thing I can see that can cause this noise is the piston that act on the clutch release lever. The only problem I have heard of about the slave is fluid migration from steering pump reservoir to clutch reservoir and that was my problem. Good luck with this annoying problem, J.P.

that wasn't mine, mine is in my garage

i was able to see the piston in the clutch fpork and everything seems fine. The noise really seems to be from the inside of the slave.

When Paulie Walnuts had this problem, Dr. Jitsu suggested knee replacement surgery
