Not to mention a 1000hp TT would probably overheat after 1 lap on the Nurburgring.
Porsche has left behind Ferrari in FIA GT in europe since they don't let the Porsche turbos race.NO way a GT3 can left behind a TURBO if it is very well prepare to race in road courses like nurburring.

Here. I'll make this really easy. Forget what some guy says about how fast his Rturbo is without any data to back it up. The data is already out there.

First, if you haven't already...read Mbailey's post above. It shows definitively that from 100-200kph, the RUF 550 gets demolished by 700 HP US cars.

Second, Road and Track ran a 590 HP Rturbo to 180.2 mph in the standing mile during their Thunder Road test in 2005. Remember, this was the 590 HP version, which I hope everyone can agree is faster than the 550 HP version...thus, it is unlikely that the 550 version would even break 175 mph. http://www.roadandtrack.com/article....&page_number=9

That said, every "700" HP US tuned car that I can think of that has competed in the Texas Mile has gone faster than the RUF 590:

Marty's Protomotive PE700 - 190.5
Evoms 997TT690R - 187
AWE 700 - 185.8

P.S. - A RUF RT12 only went 187.

RUF makes wonderful cars, but they aren't all that fast.

blackhorse turbo Todd's Tiptronic k24/18g ran 190+...No way a 550hp ruf car is going to beat a GT700 or even a GT 650.

Are these cars AWD? If so, a 550 is 450awhp and a 590 is 475awhp? Thats about 100whp or so shy of either 650 or 700. Has anyone dyno'd a Ruf car to confirm if 550-590 is WHP or crank?

Here is one:

I think you get every hp that you pay (dearly) for with Ruf.

The dynos I saw on my 550 conversion were engine dynos from Germany. I don't know or care what a chassis dyno shows, way too many variables. I do know that my car feels significantly faster than my giac flash, the amount of tq it puts down is unreal and this continues all the way up.
Would it beat a G700? Who knows but it would be fun to find out someday!

Heck, almost any chasis with almost no suspension and enough horsepower can do great 1/4 mile times - why don't you guys hang out at the 'top fuel dragster' web forum - that's where you belong.

"Fast' means the ability to win an actual road race, which is what Porsche Motorsports competes in, they have never competed in drag racing. My Ruf is now set-up with a Moton adjustable supension - I will challenge any of you (with the exception of the Alzen brothers) to race me on a road course, and you will lose.

I find it quite funny that after a few facts were posted proving that your "215 mph top speed" car isn't nearly as fast in a straight line as you previously claimed, you have now changed your tune to road-racing.

That said; do you honestly think that none of the fast Porsches on this forum can go around road-courses quickly? Do you honestly believe you are the only one running Motons? There are guys on this forum making even less power than you are that would embarrass you around a road course.

You have absolutely no idea what you are talking about.

Some say... he drinks gasoline and inhales rubber smoke for caffeine. It is time to bring in Sti... I meant Tom (Kerr) that is. Tom doesn't have the fastest car, but I put my money on him any day. Too bad he's in FL.

Scott..the most insane thing is the EVOMS car and Gene's AWE tune did it with a 10-15mph headwind, which would translate into at least 50-75 hp drag deficit.

A "fast" car handles well but more importantly puts lots of power to the ground. Your car does not. However the best test is to combine a road course day (where the big turboed cars will be at a disadvantage) w/ a 60-130 comp and a 1/4 mile comp for a true test of the Ultimate fast car.

In fact we have such a comp here in Houston every year and I would gladly bet against you if you were man enough to enter.

Does anyone know how much this Ruf 550 car weighs? Just wondering what power to weight ratio is compared to other tuned stock weight turbos on this forum.
