Where do you guys with XM radio place the antenna?

I used the original NAV antenna location in the front center of the dash for the NAV antenna but had pretty bad reception with the XM radio antenna in the same location.

I also tried different locations under the dash with the same poor result. The radio just fades in and out too much.

I have been driving around with the antenna visible on the exterior of the car for a while now. Reception is great but the look bothers me.

Any ideas?

 

I was going to put it next to the Nav, like you did, but now I won't. What about on the rear parcel "shelf"?

 

It needs to be on the outside for good reception. The roof is good. It can go on the rear window at the top or bottom center near the edge. It wll probably visually "go away" after a while. I have had them on about four cars and the xm is worth the visual comprimise imo.
