Best Rendition/Pic/Specs Of MY2006 C-6 Z06 Yet

A wave of justification came over me. I just brought my 996tt home two days ago. The reasons for choosing it over cars from 30k-150k...AWD (snow and rain here whether driven in it or not), Turbo (I live at 7000 feet, at 3% loss for every 1000 feet you need a lot of hp), back seats (2 kids).
And yes...there were all of the other reasons, but I have to 'sell' the car to my wife.

Btw, Corvette C5Rs having been champion title-holders several years and have won many ALMS races next to Audi R8's consecutive reign (1999-2001?) Those Yellow/White or Silver/Blk C5Rs are highly competitive. This is where the C6/Z06 technology is trickling down from.

yep, what a rip roaring bargain - again. one could take the Z06 and drive the ***** off it (making lap times in the TT - or better - range) before totaling it at the track some time and still spend less than a few years depreciation on a turbo when bought new.

If I'm not mistaken the C5 had great racing commitment, it pretty much dominated it's class in SCCA
and the stereotypical driver applies to porsche also

Stereotypes are rarely true, just true enough to perpetuate the stereotype.

We Porsche drivers have a lot of " baggage " in that department , too.
BTW, having been a brief member of the Vette owning fraterity a few years ago, I would say the typical Vette owner is way more into the technical/mechanical aspects of the carnut culture and can go on and on about valve guide materials , compression ratios, etc. I see way more new money types who come and go on the Porsche boards and once they tire of the car and it's added assorted aftermarket bling , move onto the next expensive car that looks cool at the trendy club. How's that for stereotyping

the Vettes guys are a great group, it's fun driving ours and gettinga wave from every other vette that drives by. I don't know of any other cars that have that kind of community.

But vettes have been racing since their start. Even the C4's and such were put into competition

I wonder how quick it will really be? American car companies always are real ambitious with their numbers. They "claim" the C6 vette goes to 60 in 4.2, meanwhile, it is slower than the C2S which just ran a 4.5 in R&T.
