How do you guys feel about the new 3.8 and doing away with the GT1 engine? I know folks on the 997 section are too excited including myself.

kinda worrisome when the new redline is 6k. Makes you wonder how much confidence they have in their own engine. However, porsche knows what the aftermarket does to their cars, so I would hope that they made a beefy drivetrain for this new one.

Doing away with the GT1 dry sump is going backwards if you ask me. Like anything else in life presently it's all cost driven = less spent initially, charge the same if not more at the end. In my 944 turbo, all electronics were Bosch - never failed. When my door window pop up/down mechanism failed in 911 turbo, the whole door unit had to be changed and guess what; it was made in France - same are fitted to Citroen and it only lasted 3 years. I would say newer, nowadays doesn't mean better anymore, quite the reverse actually. Sexy looking car though, and 500bhp out of the box...
