yea! Ive read alot about ure car. Top notch tuning job, both engine and body. Im a huge techart fan but I really like that u kept the rear bumper stock and just painted the lip at the bottom. But the stickers??????? I think u ruined the look of the car. That said I respect that u drive and enjoy the car instead of just letting it be a garage queen.

(I am surprised that a TechArt fan would not recognize the TechArt tire tread mark)
In the short time that I have known Fred, he has looked at and applied various graphic 'appearance concepts' for his car for various reasons at various times... Some more ‘subdued’, some much more dramatic.
That particular 'stripe', if I recall correctly, came directly from TechArt in Europe and is identical to that used by TechArt for promotional work with their 996TT. The timing was around a great track event Fred organized for the local Porsche guys and gals.
The numbers and many of the others graphics are, if I recall, left over from that same track event. I believe all of the above (and all the graphics on the car in those photo’s) were left on for a time for 'fun' and as requested by various people that wanted the car that way for photographic purposes... like that you see in TUNINGWERKS.
Since that photo shoot, Fred’s car bas been transformed visually at least twice that I know of. Once for the LV High Roller shoot-out and yet again to the way he has it today... and may be different again next week.
There is little question that with or without graphics, Fred’s car makes a significant statement.

Its not that I didnt recognize the "tire tread" I simply dont like the look of it regardless why it was put on there. Just a subjective opinion from a boardmember. Nothing wrong with that rite?
Ps theres no doubt that the performance of the cars makes a significant statement, the stickers hmmmm to each his own!

This is Fred's car at the shootout without the tire tread decal and #8. We'll post pics of the new look when we are done with his mods, or you'll be able to see it in the Akkurat 2005 calendar available soon.

For those who don't know me, my car has gone through many changes. I have had no stickers, EVO stickers for the original shootout, Gumball3000 stickers when my car was entered, the TireTread mark for the TuningWerks article, Akkurate Stickers for the 2nd shootout, and now all stickers have been removed. (so each time there has been a reason to the madness ;-) )

Those are excellent photos. I'll have to pick up a copy of that issue. Looks like mr wynn beat me to punch publishing photos at the reservoir...I've enjoyed shooting there in the past as well
