Want to have my HRE's refinished, can someone recommend a place in Orange County, CA
I could take them down to HRE in Carlsbad, but I've heard they can be very pricey, plus I'm not entirely certain I'm keeping these for the long haul.
Thanks. |

Thanks. I think the best advice you're going to get here is send them back to HRE and yes, they are VERY pricey... |
I can probably buy a set of used rims in this market in near mint
condition for about the same price HRE is going to charge to refinish. Hmm.

Your best bet IMO is Performance Wheel Repair (performancewheelrepair.com) in Walnut, CA 91789...Their prices/quality/service are very competitive and they offer SAME DAY SERVICE  I have dropped my car off there several times with the wheels/tires mounted...Came back after a few hours and BAM everything was ready to go  Here's a few shots of some of my wheels I have had refinished there...

A Attachment 497650 I think HRE told me they charge $350 or 375 to refinish 1 wheel. I got a quote locally from a reputable/recommended wheel shop to repair and powdercoat to match matte-black all 4 wheels for $700. I will likely do that at some point. |
Wheel Enhancement in Culver City. They do great work and they're a 6speed sponsor.

Sorry to hear/see about your mishap. |

I bring this up as another 6speeder had encountered this issue and HRE gracefully offered him a great deal on new wheels (can not be repaired as structural fatigue is no no). I would say shop around, but do give HRE a call. Good Luck, |

However, if you are going to have them powder coated, beware that according to HRE, others use rather higher temp to cure and this may and will cause premature fatigue in the forged aluminum construction. Please do a search and you can find more info on this.
