Just bought a Viper

I know this is being unfaithful but I could not help myself. I drove one and I was hooked! It is a totally different feel from my X50. Two different routs to the same place. Driving one and then the other here my first obsrevations:

(1) The Viper turns more heads and draws more of a crowd. I had people taking pictures of it in the parking lot.
(2) The Viper is a single purpose car. It has terrible blind spots with the top up and no cruse control. Sucks on wet roads. I it is a fair wheather Sunday afternoon car.
(3) Jumping into my X50 right after the Viper I'm amazed at the acceleration. The Viper disipates some of its power in the form of wheel spin (like all the time) and the X50 just goes. I think this is why my wife gets car sick quicker in the X50 then the Viper. Also I can nail the X50 in a corner and I have to be extremely careful with the Viper.

I've been asked which car feels faster a lot? I would say the Viper feels faster because the side exhaust, stiff suspension and high torque. I think if I could race myself the X50 would take it though. The Viper needs a better driver to handle all the torque.

For what its worth I think both car are a blast to drive. The Viper has a raw brute force to it and the X50 is ultra refined. If I could only have one though the X50 would be parked in my garage hands down.

Congratulations, snake-charmer.

Enjoy both. Nice that you have both, they are very different cars. Have a blast, and THIS POST IS WORTHLESS WITHOUT PICS!

congrats on the purchase. The X50 and the stock SRT 10 are about the same in acceleration. Your viper, once broken in gets a bit faster. Spend about 5k in mods, and it will be considerably faster. I like em both, but the SRT, with its long hood, N/A sound and instant torque feels a bit like a 60's' hotrod with great handling. It is tighter out of the box, and very snug inside. Post some pics when you get a chance. Talk to one of our wheel sponsors to bring its looks from good to great.

My buddy has a viper, we go to mixed de's together all the time. The viper is fast as **** in the straights, but needs alot of driver input in the turns. very easy to lose it in the viper if you're used to one of our type cars. A very different experience. Like a Shelby Cobra that can handle. My avatar has a shot of me and Falco in his viper at the Glen, right after that shot he was in the gravel.
Have fun!

Tim, congrats. Check out the Forgeline R series wheels, they are great for these cars. My GTS is way slower and much sloppier than my Turbo, but more fun signal to signal. Ejoy, Stu

the reason the viper gets alot of attention is because they are RARE, which in turn is becuase most people can't justify the price.

i had driven one and i found it a bit scary on a cold day... can't imagine what it would be like in the rain.
