A 7 owner vehicle?

Still searching for that perfect 996TT. My latest find is a 7 owner vehicle, I would be the 8th. The car is a 2001. I think that's enough to make me run without looking.

Thoughts?

IMO it's the condition of the car that matters, not how many people owned it. PPI it, check the service records, if any, and go from there.

Usually that tells you something about the car. Would you marry a woman that married 7 times?

It would throw up flags for sure. Also make sure when you are reading the ownership history if it's on a carfax that they are ownership changes (not dealers/auctions etc.). If condition is right and ppi is right the ability to negotiate down the $$ due to ownership history and likely lack of service history is there.

it depends on how long they owned it if it was a real ownership or just dealerships. depends on the condition of car, any history price etc.

I would be somewhat suspect but like others have said it depends on the car. Come to one of our events in the local section and you can get a wealth of information.

Keep looking. Once you get a TT you will be very happy!

It really depends on the condition of the car and the PPI. There are some very wealthy guys who get bored easily and are constantly getting new cars. I have a friend who's always got something new; an Audi, Merc, Porsche, Ferrari he's currently driving a Lambo. It doesn't necessarily mean there's something wrong with the car.

edit: I just re-read and noticed it said 7. I thought it was less than that. Seven owners in almost that many years would make me a little leery of the car.

I don't think it is that there is something wrong that has caused these changes in ownership... but rather 7 owners indicates serial 'renters' and not 'committed owners'. I'd be concerned with how the car was driven and treated- and how it was maintained...or not.

I agree but if they were anything like my friend it probably didn't get driven much.
Does this car have high mileage?
