VIDEO: RobMD vs Lexus
just run the car in the 60-130 or do a 0-186 and let the car speak for itself. If it isnt a 2 sec 60-130 car, who gives a crap. Most people on this board will actually respect the posting of verifiable results, not the results themselves. I can tell you right now if Rob just runs his car and posts the numbers, whatever they may be, he will get my respect and I suspect the respect of many on this board......
In my view there is nothing to lose-surely interesting to get ones own comparative information. What these events show is how difficult it really is to get HP numbers up to a point where performance improves . I do not see amy losers-- everyone has made a big knowledge gain either by the direct involvement and for others following these forums.
Thankyou to all of you.
Kevin,
I agree and have told Rob and Akram (he built Robs car, Tim, and it is tuned by Proto) that all Rob really has to do is get a verified 60-130 time. Even a low 5 would get him some respect, IMO.
For the life of me I can't understand why he does not do it. It is really one of those very bizarre things that I just can't understand, especially since a good 60-130 time was what motivated me to do all the things I have done to/with my car (had a wonderful time explaining to my wife yesterday why I need to drop 10K into my new intake system and IC's....5.5 here I come
).
Having said that, however, the type of humanitarian work that Rob has done has always bought him a pass in my book. Thats just me, though (I guess I am frustrated that I went into academics and not medicine, maybe)
I do understand the frustration w/ the 6 speed community w/ his unwillingness to get some verified data (dynos don't count) for his car. It seems to be a point of obstinacy on his part so in that regard the virtual evisceration may be partially justified.

..... good luck with the upgrades.
Rob and Akram nice to meet you in person. Just fyi: I saw the run b/n Rob's car and the 1200HP Mustang the next day. Went head to head but Rob's car took the Stang by 2 feet at the end marker. Later I heard they got disqualified b/c his car jumped the gun first with the TT G, SW.
The question I have is.... Why would a guy make all these outrageous claims, call out guys that have actually proven their cars and expect to not get **** when he fails. I think he should start a bit lower down the food chain before calling out the big dogs.

Now the Mustang has 1200 hp....I call B.S.! I have built and raced Mustangs for 15 years, and I know for a fact, that Mustang have no where near 1200 hp Art. 1200 hp is VERY hard to make with a Whipple or KenneBelle blower.
Why would you claim it to be 1200 then? Trust me Art, I would love to see the Porsche win the race but I don't think Robs car lives up to his claims. I like to speak softly and carry a big club.
What was I doing, tanning
My freakin neck is burned like a Tomato. Sorry to miss you bro, that sucks. Thanks for coming by though. Marty and I talked for a bit. He even saw me bringing the car back when the tire blew, I bet my face was pale then and my underpants were wet
