The backpressure numbers would just be telling of how much was left on the table by switching to the larger hot side. The closer it is to 1:1, the better the motor's VE is going to be, as well has the motor being more resitant to detonation.
If you think about it, 550whp on a .63 housing 35r really isn't that much though. In the DSM/evo world its not uncommon to see 650-700whp running boost in the high 30s out of the same unit. That's not to say you wouldn't pick up power going to the larger housing though, or you could elect to make the same power at a lower boost pressure.

Agree, but the problem we have encountered is the lack of fuel and spark. Hence, I think it is better to go with a smaller housing which gives better response than a larger housing because the limit is not the turbo but fuel and spark. Unfortunately, this will be the third time to upgrade my fuel system but the bigger (more money) obstacle is the electrical system. I will accept any advice how to make more spark. I just cant get over the 40 pounds.

Sincerely
Robert

While I will defer to more informed, educated and experienced members, my 2 cents is to go with the smallest turbo/wheel that will get you the power you seek. There is no point to have too much overhead on what is arguably too big a turbo already.

What plug gap are you running...or what is the smallest gap you have tried at what boost levels?
