Gotta love the cold weather...

Just wanted to say I'm glad we're finally getting some cold weather here in TX. Gotta love roasting the tires in 2nd with just an upsolute chip. What a difference between 90-100 in the summer and 40-60 degrees now. Any of you physics guys out there know the correlation between temp and hp with these cars?

Right now at -22C, I can roast all 4 tires of the pickup truck at 60mph. I think it may have to do with grip, too! lol

Wink

Gold weather for driving is great, but I always felt that warm tires are much better than cold ones.

Just remember that; it is a must for all F-1 cars to "really" warm-up their tires before every race...

Nothing better than a cool temperature and hot tires!

the colder it is, the:
1) more efficient the engine runs, therefore, more power
2) exhaust sounds better
3) intercoolers work better
4) Xenons are bluer
Love the cold

I hate the cold. I thought coming to LA would relieve me of the cold and rain. Turns out I was wrong. The rain only makes LA even more of a dangerous place to drive, if it can get any worst. Accidents everywhere. Be careful out there guys, wouldn't want to see a Porsche on the news.

It's fun turning the traction control off on the audi, and doing backwards doughnuts in a snowy parking lot! Gotta love winter!

Cold Air = denser air = more oxygen molecules it can combust for a specific volume thus more HP.

Actually from a thermodynamics standpoint your car is less efficient in the colder weather - the power increase is due to more dense air that allows you to burn more fuel and hence burn rubber (although another topic on friction factors in cold and warm can now be generated) - I call it a free 25 HP when the weather changes here in New England - gas ain't cheap but the thrills are worth it!!!!!!!!! After all, cold weather $ucks. We got a full inch of freezing rain. Enough to make your doors un-openable. This blows. I'm moving to SoCal.
