Navigation system

I'm thinking about adding a factory Nav system to my early 2002 TT. Has anyone done a retrofit on these cars? Is it hard or easy? Anything in particular to watch for? Any comments would be much appreciated!

Gunther,
the factory nav is not going to work on ur car except the factory Traffic PRO system. after 03 MOST system is standard so the nav can be retrofitted for about 4.5k.

Gunther,
that is correct. pre-03 is not but post-03 is. since ur car is 02 the only system is Traffic PRO or aftermarket system.

So the stock Traffic Pro system will work in my early 02 TT? How hard is it to install? I was lead to beleive that unless it came prewired from the factory I was toast. Sorry for all the questiosn but none of the local dealers seem to know anything

no problem Gunther,
here is a pix & some info/part number of the Traffic Pro system. i had it on my ex C4S. except it doesn't have actually map screen other than that it's great... well, u can't fit the PCM & still want the factory look guess this is the only way to go. installation is somewhere around 400 bucks if i remember right.

TrafficPro Navigation System
Despite its compact format, the TrafficPro packs all the features of a conventional satellite navigation system, plus a comprehensive range of additional functions, such as stopovers. The display is a high-quality dot-matrix design, while road network data for the 48 contiguous states is provided on two CDs. The data features a 300 mile overlap. Before you begin your journey, simply enter your destination using a single rotary control. Route guidance information is delivered visually on the dot-matrix display as well as in the form of voice output via the standard audio speakers(in English, French, or Spanish). Installation is simplified with TrafficPro’s compact chassis design.

Part no. 000 044 900 78

Requires additional GPS antenna.

Part no. 996 612 970 01
