She's Home!!!
She's Home!!!
Well, today was the day I actually fulfilled a lifelong dream. I can remember like it was yesterday sitting in class and sketching out the shape of the icon, hoping that maybe one day I'd win the lottery so I could call one my own.
I didn't win any stinkin' lottery, but I did bust out of my dream state long enough to make the fantasy a reality. Here are a few sub-standard pics from tonight - more to follow after she gets a nice bath.
Picking up from RUF tonight:

In my driveway!!

Getting her private suite all ready:

All tucked in for the night:

Some decorations to make her feel welcome:

Only 30 miles from RUF to home tonight, and I already can't get the grin off my stupid face. I was trying to explain what "turbo" meant to my 13 year old daughter, who then asked if that kind of thing interested all guys.
After punching it in 2nd and throwing her back into the seat, now she understands what it means, and she's hooked too.
Glad to be back in the right Porsche (for me)!!

BTW - here's my progression of Porsches so far:
1999 Carrera Cab:

2001 Carrera Coupe:

2001 996TT:

Throw in a 1998 Vette convertible to start my addiction, add in a 1995 Acura NSX-T (wish I never sold), and mix with a 2005 C6 Vette - I can only wish I didn't have to sell one to get the next, and that I had a massive barn to house them all.

Thanks for the comments - the garage was a project of mine last summer. I think I spent all of $200 total - a neighbor and I built the storage platform at the front of the garage, then I painted the walls and laid down 12" x 12" adhesive tiles with outdoor carpet cut into runners to avoid any hot tire pickup. I'll post pictures of the progress as I did it - it was a one day deal. BTW - my wife gets the full 2 car garage to the left of mine all to herself.
My garage looks awfully cluttered to me - time to rearrange and organize. Funny how random stuff just piles up.......
