I looked at this car today and the seller told me he had x50 on the car.

So I looked under the hood and found the sticker with options listed and it has x50 on the options list.

However, the engine code doesn't have E at the end like people said in other threads.

I'm really confused. Let me know if it looks awkward to you guys as well.

Thanks.

I'll check the ICs once I get another chance to see the car. I thought it was strange how on the other thread, someone mentioned it needs E at the end of the engine code to be x50 but it didn't, so I got confused.

I just looked again in The Essential companion and it says the X50 on that label means a 450HP 996. It also shows that M96/70 643 is a 2003 Turbo. There is also another listing under the MY2001 for a M96/70E. I think what must have happened is that the 70E was on the label of earlier models and the 2003 would have 70 and the X50 code in the options. They are both shown with the 450HP engine as opposed to the base turbo's 420HP engine. Hope that helps.
