Downshift Braking in Tiptronic

I have always had cars under warranty (always automatics) and gotten used to downshifting in the manual mode to slow down and have more fun driving etc... As a new owner of a '01 996 TT without warranty, is downshifting using the tiptronic to slow down a bad idea?

I am currently having my tranny partially rebuilt (bought it with a leak inside the tranny) and I am determining how much rebuild work I want done (whether to rebuild the clutch packs or not).

Thanks!

I think that's bad, but not sure. If you plan to Mod your car, get a hold of "vividracingtx". he has much experience in the Tip world.

Not an issues in a Tip as it will not let you change down if beyond a certain RPM (even in manual mode)... built in safety!!!
