Haha.. not sure they exist anywhere in Texas do they? I went to school there and the only 'curvy' roads I remember were the on-ramps to the freeway - lol.

 

So... That beeping sound... I'm guessing you have never heard it so often as you did on our drive??

 

Yeah, you are soo right... that 'beep' was never intended to sound so often... haha

Great, great day. Can't wait to head out there again soon. I hope to have multiple cameras next time.

 

I also think that the sight of 5 or 6 widebody Porsche Turbos with their headlights on, gives them extra incentive to move over...

 

You have to get out of the concrete jungle that is Houston and head to Austin. There are absolutely unbelievable roads there, and heading west through the Hill Country is some of the best driving you'll ever do. You can even tackle "The Devil's Backbone" out there - just gorgeous.

 

I just watched the HD version of Video 4, the "hidden road" and at the end, at 6:55, you actually chuckle out loud... I did the same at the end of that part of the drive....

Yes.. It was a lot of fun... I think the amount of laughing and general giggling when we all got back to Alice's after the drive was proof of that... It's amazing how easily a bunch of 30 - 50 something Men turn into boys given the right toys and a good place to use them

I will be posting whenever we have the next drive.. Hopefully next time will be a bit less wet.. You can see in some of the video footage that there were some very wet areas, also some grit/sand that had been laid down by the Caltrans guys where there had been frost.

The vid of Pacific Coast Highway sure brings back memories. Wish I could have been there with you guys.

 

I'm so use to riding to Alice's. I think I might have to start taking the TT through 35 the next time I get a chance
