pics of Battery remains
I know, I thought I came in really late. Come on guys, you are losing your touch!!! Get your minds back in the gutter!
Any and all of these battery tenders are fine. If you have a sealed battery, it doesn't matter. If you don't have a sealed battery, make sure your vent tube is hooked up and hooked up correctly, venting OUT of the car. I believe the factory vent hose does this?
Just check to see if the light indicator is on (charging) or off (not charging). It would make sense if the light stays on then it could be overcharging. This is very basic reasoning,so if someone else has an opinion with a more precise answer please speak up. Keep in mind that it could of been a build up of gas over time & the trickle charger is working fine. I will install a Optima Red top & use the trickle charger to see if the charging indicator stays on or if it operates like it is suppose to.

That's what I'm afraid of. Been plugged in for the last day and the red light is still on. I probably discharged the battery enough after having it sit for weeks at a time. How long is 'too long' for it to be still charging?
Not sure? Maybe use a meter and measure your battery voltage? If it's good, maybe check it again later and see if it changes or the light is still on? I think I would watch that.
The Battery Tender/ Trickle Chargers/ Mainteiners only put out between 1-2 amps. To put things in perspective, car alternators usually put out 90-130amps. Looking at this you should understand why your battery tender will stay in red for a week if your battery is low or dead before it reaches full charge.
Haha. Thank Paulie. Yours is pretty badass too. Love rolling shots
Understood, but I assume the longer it stays 'on', the more hydrogen gas will accumulate. After this thread, I plan on venting the battery compartment for a good 20 minutes before starting the car, but the thought of a ticking time bomb in my garage kinda scares the living crap outta me.
