Clutchmasters S3 Clutch and EPL Flash from Titan Motorsports
Clutchmasters S3 Clutch and EPL Flash from Titan Motorsports
Just thought I would post about my recent positive experience with Titan Motorsports. I had my 2001 TT (stock up to this point) shipped there to receive a Clutchmasters S3 clutch, EPL flash, diverter valves, and K&N filter. Nero and Wes provided great customer service and consultation throughout the process. Everything went smoothly and I picked the car up this Monday. I haven't had a ton of time to spend driving her so far, but the car seems to run very well and pull much harder than before the upgrades.
My thoughts on the S3 Clutchmasters clutch (with new OEM dual mass flywheel)- The drivability is still very similar to OEM. It does engage harder, and I actually stalled a couple times on the first drive, but was used to it after a few starts and am now relatively smooth. I know this will smooth out even more after a few hundred miles. The engagement point seems a bit lower than before, which is fine with me, and there seems to be no change in clutch pedal force required. Overall, I am very pleased. The flywheel was replaced as well, but I stayed with the OEM dual mass unit as the car doesn't see the track (at least not yet). I had the clutch done because of extremely notchy shifting in all gears, so the thought was that it was more likely clutch / flywheel / bearing related than the syncrhos. The notchyness has definitely lessened after the job, although there is still some that that I may want to address down the line.
My thoughts on the EPL flash- I haven't gone nuts getting on it because of the new clutch, but I have pushed her pretty hard a few times in second and man, what a rush. The boost seems to come on much faster and harder even at low rpms. I can only imagine once I push it up to around 1bar. I'm sure I'll have a lot of fun in the future due to this upgrade.
Can't really tell any difference from the diverters or K&N intake, but obviously I wouldn't be able to pick those out when done at the same time as the other upgrades.
Thanks again to Nero, Wes, and the Titan team.

It was just the standard EPL flash / tune. Nothing dyno dependent. I look forward to doing turbos and other upgrades in the future that will require dyno work.
Sure Josh. I'm currently traveling, and need to put some more miles on the clutch before I really get on it, but I'd be happy to meet up at some point. I live in Windsor Park at Hodges and Beach.
David -
It was a pleasure working on the car and taking care of some of the issues you had while performing additional upgrades as well, go put some miles on her and enjoy her, you've got an absolutely fabulous car.
