I'm assuming by divided manifold, you're referring to a manifold that is designed to work with a divided turbine housing.
the 996tt uses a conventional single scroll housing.
Below is a divided housing. Yes we've used them and the particular motor I mentioned above (1035hp) uses a divided housing on the GT42R. Main advantage is quicker spool up when done correctly.
