The Z4-like nose and 7-like rear really accentuate the worst BMW styling in decades. No amount of spoiler and skirts can hide the hideous looks.

Why can't they do a Z8 like nose and a SL like rear?

SL55 is a much better car unless you are into the fugly BMW styling cues.

Sorry, bro. A nicely modded 6 series pulls a lot more attention than any tastefully modded 911.

I can't be the only one who thinks the M5 is better looking...

I've been anticipating this car as a replacement for my RS6 in about a year. I noticed a few things I am loving. Subtle M to it, the side vent is just small doesnt scream attention. I see there is also a carbon fiber roof to it showing some hint of weight/CSL type stuff. And I see that it'ss faster than the M3 I used to own. So this cant be too bad! BTW, thats a gorgeous color (the maroon)

 

I agree, when I had a 645, it drew way more attention than my Porsche. On the road the car looks sick. As far as comapring to MB, come on. Drive any MB and then drive a BMW back to back and see if there is any comparison. MB caters to old men, BMW caters to entusiasts. Avg MB buyer is mid 50's, avg BMW driver is mid 30's.

According to Autoweek BMW is preparing a CSL version with more power!

Sadly they predict only 460 hp for the 997 Turbo.

 

You're absolutely right. If by M5, you mean the E39.

Take a look at these two pictures and judge for yourselves.
Imho, the E39 is a classic, but the E60 is so-so.
