Retractable front license plate

A friend of mine with a new Camaro SS has a unique way to deal with the Texas requirement for a front tag. He showed it to me today when he clicked a remote fob and his front license electrically came out from under his front bumper and up into place. Do any of you guys have one of these and given it a try?

John

The only concern I had was my car has been lowered with coilovers and I think it would scrape while going into driveway. If somebody goes for them, please let us know how it works out.

John

PS, for now, I'll just live with tickets if I'm ever stopped?

widebody350 is infamous around these parts
My friend has a lowered but not slammed coilover setup with the retractable license plate installed on the bottom of the lip/bumper and hasn't had any issues. He says he is going to lower the car more and may run into some problems then. I have the plate too however I'm at school and haven't mounted it yet. I've seen his working and it is pretty fast.

The retractable license plate assembly weighs a pound or so according to my friend, will be secure at 150mph and use the code Camaro2010 on swift motorsports for ten off so $140 including shipping.

One bad dip or parking block and I think that thing would be history.

nice...does it work for the rear one too
A "friend" of mine was asking just in case those pesky photo lights and photo radars accidentally catch him....

I don't see how this device could be mounted on a 996tt stock front bumper.
