The ebay driven transaction may occur off line post auction. Happens in higher valued transactions.

I echo many of the observations reported here. I friend who has owned 2 996 tt's in the past is looking for another to mod, and this time around he has indicated that he can't find good cars anywhere near the prices they were at a year ago. There are also fewere turbos on ebay. I think things have stabilized a bit, and that all those that were inclined to "dump" have already done so.

Just remember, this isn't a Ferrari market

The mileage penalty is much less. My car has nearly 70k miles and is extremely clean and reliable. On the other hand, I wouldn't touch a Ferrari 355 with 70k miles at any price. Of course I don't think there is such a thing.
