JIC Cross Coilover Redesign
Someone on here talked to JIC Cross and was told that their coilovers were going to be redesigned.
Contacted them via e-mail to find out an ETA and to get more specifics.
Here's the reply:

I have them going on my 996tt. Have not driven them, yet, but I am pretty pumped about it!
Having raced motorcycles for the past ten years, if there is one thing I have learned, a stiff suspension is not necessarily a "better" suspension.
I did a lot of endurance racing of motorcycles, and a proper setup has a large amount of suspension travel, and the key to getting the most grip out of your tires is to get FULL range of motion out of your suspension.
Of course, that is dialed in to your weight, but once you did, you got AMAZING grip, as well as a COMFORTABLE ride as a result. That was necessary to survive 6 hours of racing a motorcycle in one afternoon!
That principle also applies to cars . . . discuss amongst yourselves

Simply put, YES. However on their softest setting they aren't too too bad. They bounce around more. But are much more track oriented.
You have the new design going on your car? Soon?
No, I do not. I purchased them off a fellow 6speeder who did not need them.
He sold them to me for a significant discount. They were BNIB! Somedays, you just get lucky!

Whether you set your spring "tighter" or "looser" you have to set both your rebound AND your compression damping settings to the appropriate spring setting.
Of course, this all presumes you have to correct spring for your weight and
and application in place to begin with. If you don't, then all the adjustments in the world can only get you "close", but NEVER right.
Be sure and consult with a trusted suspension expert before you move forward with your upgrade!
