Yeah.. I'm hearing that a lot from my friends . I'm trying to get as many people over to the Dark Side of boost as I can. For every person I get to buy a 996 GT2, I get .1 bar extra boost for free from the Gods of forced induction.. At least two people that were at the track on Sunday and Monday told me they are now convinced that the 996 GT2 is the way for them to go ...

How did Sarah do driving?
Dave... You should have come down Man...

Sarah did really well.. Driving a 911 style Car is VERY similar to riding a SportBike in terms of the approach, so her Motorcycling experience helped her.

She did a 1:52, which for someone that has never seen the track before and has never driven or ridden on a track at all is a pretty decent time.

My best time over the weekend was on one traffic free lap where I did a 1:37.7.. In the Video I posted, I think my best lap with traffic was a 1:39.6.. Not bad for a 7 year old Car with zero engine mods (ok, so I MIGHT have a few suspension mods, but don't tell anyone... )

Graham -

Wow great pics, thanks!

Glad the car is now setup so well - and it looks nice too!

Wish I was able to make it. Keep me in the loop for the next one as well as any local drives. The car has been in the garage too long with all this wet weather.

- How are you liking the camera, how's the battery life? I'm waiting for mine to arrive.

The Camera is surprisingly good.!! The 1080P video I have on my PC at home looks REALLY sharp... Battery life was good enough for 2 hours of video and I STILL had plenty left.. I ran out of Memory before I ran out of battery.

Definitely.. you should come to the next events...

Damon -

Will Grahams setup (and larger GT2 rear wheel/tire) work on 996TT? Any spacers, rubbing or issues?

Thanks

Yes, indeed.. I bought them from Damon.

By the way.. The wheels were flawless.. they took 2 days of intense pounding and still look new.. The combination of the OZ's and the pre heat cycled R6's was freaking amazing. The difference in weight between the OZ's and my stock GT2 twists was noticeable, especially on turn-in.. I think it helped my braking as well, but I was running Porsche Motorsports Green compound PCCB specific pads, so that could have made a difference as well (the pads and braking were epic by the way).

To give you guys an idea.. My previous best ever Lap Time at Laguna was in my 550 HP Porsche 944 Turbo with full Cup suspension, full factory Cup hollow swaybars, factory cup hollow torsion bar at the rear, 275 Hoosier R6's at front, 315 R6's rear, 3100 lbs with a full tank of gas. That time was a 1:39.4 on a clear lap with no traffic. This Weekend, my best lap with a stock engined GT2 was a 1:37.7 with a tiny bit of time lost from traffic and I wasn't pushing THAT hard, I still had a good 2 seconds left in the Car.

Very nice driving

Smooth, great lines. Missed the apex in Turn 2, but everywhere else was spot on! I was surprised they didn't have the apex marked in the corkscrew.

Funny how the two cars with the big wings were the least impressive.

The camera tapping the glass sounded like a Geiger counter, you're laps were radioactive!

Yeah.. turn two can be done a couple of ways.. The "classic" way is to double Apex, but it just wasn't working for the way my Car was set up... My ZO6 liked the double apex line.. I tried it both ways and the wide line to late single Apex was the best in this instance.

When I'm instructing, I have the student try both lines to see how their car reacts...

Stupid camera mount... Next time I'm going to put something between the camera and the windscreen.

Thanks for the feedback..
