dr if you had a house in carmel you have way to much $$$. i'm there twice a month. played golf with a retired guy who was embarresed that he lived on one of those little homes on one of those streets on the south side of down town carmel.that was before the ression...

Assuming I could find a teaching job in Carmel I would still be living small.
I sold that house (had to pay off my tenant) six months into the market crash (2006) bought 2 houses in Texas (paid cash) and all my cars w/ money left over. It has probably lost $300k in value since then.
I even took some of the money and invested it w/ Paulie's financial adviser who promptly had his license suspended by the SEC.

If you really must publish my personal info dear Walnut, my dad drank himself to death by the time I turned 10. I got 10K from his life insurance and yes, my mom was instrumental in directing me to purchase that house 30 years ago.
My mom died the same way my dad did and I had to fight for my share w/ my stepfathers family. I also managed 7 properties long distance.
I hardly was raised w/ a silver spoon, quite the opposite I am straight from the trailer.
