Lexus GX 470 as a tow vehicle
Has anyone towed an open trailer with a GX 470? I planning on using my DD to pull my TT to the Texas Mile this year. Should be ok, right?

Todd check the towing capacity of the 470.
Make sure to check all fluids & check to see if you have to ADJUST TIRE PRESSURE for towing.

U Haul wants $286 for the installation of the hitch and $55/day for the trailer. Seem about right?

we used to tow our boat with the LX470. the boat n the trailer weight about 5500 lbs(tandem axle trailer for the boat) u can feel the weight from the back cause of the air suspension being too soft. ur GX470 should fine, even better if u dont have air suspension more solid feel. the motor is the same with good power. IMO u should be fine

If you've never done this kind of towing before, be very careful. The load on the back can do funny things at speed. Wind impacts it a lot. And be very careful about braking! It is seriously hampered. If it were me, I'd have a buddy drive the 470 and you drive the Porsche down there. It can't be too far from where you are and some company down there would be fun. And I think you'll save a few bucks too.
