Who cares, all those caterham type cars look stupid and I would not really classify them as cars anyway.

The Caterham is a blast to drive and sticks to the road like Jiffy Peanut butter to the roof of your mouth! I don't know about this copy of it but the picture looks nice enough. Having said that it is in no ways a "production car" even to the extent that the Carerra GT is.

But don't let the looks stop you, lots of things that don't necessarily look good are actually quite nice!

I think we're not really making a remote comparison other than the performance numbers mentioned earlier. In the UK, these types of cars (Lotus 7 etc. are very popular - hoards of them rattle down to Le Mans from England every year). They're completely impractical, and certainly not a viable daily driver, but there are variations that are very fast - sub 4 0-60 but even more impressive is what they can do on tracks. A good friend of mine competes in a Caterham series in the UK and has a blast. I still don't think I'd have one though.

Why not run a beefed up shifter cart and try to break the record, too. Or maybe the Tomahawk . . . it has 4 wheels.

Rumor has it no one has ever been able to ride the Tomahawk over 35mph!

BLING isn't the most important thing to all car enthusiasts. Some appreciate driving ability, now you better sit down for this, over the bling factor!

Setting track records is all about bragging rights. Who cares if it's a German, Italian, Dutch, or Chinese make. There are many ways to build a fast car. Big motor pulling its weight plus the car, or a tiny motor pulling skin and bones. If pure speed is what you're after on 4 wheels, then Caterham just proved you don't need to spend $440k to go around the track fast, really fast.

I for one like the minimalist look of it. It is super gokart for the streets. I tried to follow one thru the hills one day and all I can say OMG.
