I'll be at VIR at the end of June with the Z06 - I'll take you out for a few laps. VIR is awesome track.

I can hit the 165 on the back straight in the corvette - your GT2 would do it easy.

Scott, you haven't lived until you've road raced these cars. What a blast!

The car was for sale on this forum about 1 year ago.
you can try to contact Gene - the previous owner. I'm sure he will be glad to answer any questions you have.

wow, this car is in better shape than I thought, AND it's damn fast. I REALLY like the handling feel of the GT2. It feels much lighter, snappier and more responsive than most newer turbos. It's the perfect bastard offspring of a 930 and a GT3:

You hit the nail on the head... The PERFECT Car as far as I am concerned.. Every bit as good as the GT3 in the handling department once you get the geometry set correctly and massive amounts of power..

Once you get used to the idea of getting on the throttle earlier to get the boost up and learning how to left foot brake (again, to keep the car on boost), it's amazing!!! Nothing I have ever driven digs in, squats and then ballistically FIRES you out of the corners like the GT2... My ZO6 wasn't even CLOSE in terms of the sheer rear-end grip and acceleration...

The Widowmaker can bite you badly if you don't learn to drive her properly and respect her, but DAMN what a challenge it is to learn.. Once you get familiar with how to drive it, the GT2 has no peers....

considering I learned "apexology" in the mid 90's in 80's 911s and 500whp 930s, the GT2 is like a timid lamb on vicodin. But, point well made.

I completely agree that the most fun aspect of a 911 is the great grip under power. Of course the tradeoff is the damn thing won't turn in without some help from the brakes.

Can't wait to transition from trail braking to 600ft/lbs mid-corner (I'll take a few laps building up to that one)!

Here's what I'm talking about... Me hard on it through Turn 6 at Laguna.. It doesn't get much better than the feeling of getting it just right..

In this picture, I was running stock exhaust.. ZERO problems meeting the 92 Db Laguna Sound limit. I now have the 2 1/2" X-Cellerator exhaust from John at Speedtech and I was failing by 2 db last time out at Laguna (so I had to stay in 4th instead of 3rd and I had to lift going by the sound booth between turns 5 and 6). I will be sending it out to get Jet-Hot coated to reduce the resonance and thereby reduce the amount of sound it generates.. an added benefit should be less heat in the engine compartment and more of it going out of the tailpipes.
