Angry put put put.. dead..

Hey guys,

I need help here. My tt went completely dead today. Here's the story..

Went to get an oil change, done. Driving home I feel a weird misfire or sputter while crusing on the freeway (never happened before) I just drove on. Made it 10 miles easy.

Later that evening, I hop in the car to go out. Driving out the neighborhood in first gear/ 2nd gear only the car starts loosing power when I step on the gas, the rpms drop, the car starts boging and put puting. And and I try to step on the gas it goes for a little then completely dies. I pull over. Fire it back up and drive in first til 15mph and the gas pedal is down about 30% percent cruisin and put put put dead again. RPMs dropped all the way down. Didn't see any cels while I was put putting around. Can anyone plese shed some insight on this?

I searched and found some possible scenarios:

Plugs are dead
Maf is bad
Fuel line in tank split

Not sure if anyone has a similar story so please chime in!!! Help!

Could be MAF too except I'd expect a trouble light. Fuel sounds like a good guess though I agree.

what they said ^ Fuel line, been through the same scenario and replaced with a GT2 fuel pump which has better and stronger fuel lines.

Update:

Went to start the car today, it cranked a little longer than normal and started up with a real rough idle and rpms then hoped up and down a bit for 10 seconds or so and stablized as if everything were normal rolled It backwards off my drive way far enough to get a little drive. Put it in first and accelerated with 20% throttle down and it started bogging and rpms were all over. I'm sure if I tried to drive it, it would of shut off. Now..

What are some test I could do to see if fuel line split is correct diagnosis? Also can you guys explain to me why you guys came to this conclusion? Insight please.. I want to learn from this also.

Either the line split or the pump itself calfed (not likely, but it happens)

It all depends on your mechanical skills. I can fix anything at home if I want to take the time.

For special tools, same kind of answer, depends what you consider special.

If it was a split fuel line wouldn't the smell of gas be strong in the garage?? Just questioning?

Pretty sure the fuel pump looks like a monster from outer space with several loops of hose some of which are in the tank. If the split hose is in the tank, it just loses pressure and the fuel falls back into the tank.

I've not paid alot of attention to this, but this was my thought.

How would I figure out if its line or pump? I read about someone's line inside the tank splitting but wouldn't the car not be able to hold idle since there is no fuel getting to the motor?

Hedonistic is infamous around these parts
Just a note from a noob (I'm not a mechanic but I like tinkering with stuff).

I changed my plugs and coils (which involves removing the intercoolers and at least one of the big hoses to each turbo. AND I FORGOT to connect one of the big hoses to the driver's side turbo. While I did not take it out on the road, I had very similar symptoms. When I started it up: Rough idle. Stepping on the gas resulting in a sputteringly slow increase in rpm; very balky.

Maybe it's a coincidence to your oil change as the oil change doesn't involve goofing around with the turbo hoses--but maybe one of the hoses popped out.
