Quote: How many people are actually running just a 5 BAR with their K24/18g setup and tracking the car regularly? Dave at EPL told me that they would max out around 500 whp which is probably fine, but is it safe?
No, my 18g made more than that on pump gas with a 5 bar. With race gas you should be, if everything is done right, around 550-570 rwhp. I would not go over 1.35 bar with a 5 bar and race gas though.

Quote: curious, will you be staying with the 2.5 exhaust or upgrade to full 3"?
Going to the 3" full.... I can get around the Draconian Laguna Sound restrictions by ceramic coating the whole exhaust system and if it still doesn't pass, then have some angled tips made to point away from the sound booth between turn 5 and 6...

Dave is accurate when speaking about our dyno. You are at 100% duty on the injectors about 480-490 all wheel drive.

500 is really pushing it on a 5 bar. Ive said it before.... from a good tuning prospective, you can max the stock injectors out even with an aggressive k16 flash.

The european markets are the only ones that seem to run injectors to their limits. This is something Ive never understood due to the cost of replacement on these car =/.

Back when I had my 24/18Gs on and Protomotive tuning we started to go lean (13:1 AFR) on the dyno right at 1.35 bar and around 530AWHP (high reading Dynojet) on race gas. This was with stock injectors and a 5 bar.

It should be ready to go next week. The shop had it put back together only to find an oil leak from the oil/coolant heat exchanger so they dropped the motor again to fix it. Looking forward to getting it back after a long 5 month wait! I will update my thread after I drive it.

I didn't mean to sound argumentative. I'm just sharing what my tuner told and showed me with several dynos graphs. The lean condition you experienced is why I wouldn't go over 1.35 bar with a 5 bar in a 18 g car.

I am going to have to wait on the upgrades, as I decided I HAD to have a new BMW S1000RR Motorcycle..

so, that has sucked up my project money for a couple of Months.. Never fear though, as I am going to do it fairly soon. In the meantime, I was hoping someone else in the World might have done it, so I could see if there are benefits above and beyong the 18G upgrade, but so far, no real results...

That bike is the real deal from what I've read. I would love to get one but I can't even use the potential of my GSXR 1000.

When are you getting your BMW 1000RR?

I ordered up a 2011 model in BMW Motorsports colors with every available option apart from the Alarm (quickshifter, Race ABS and Race traction control). In theory, it should arrive in September in time for my Birthday. I spec'd it out with a full Ti Austin Racing exhaust system, Bazzaz controller, BMC Race filter, aero crash bungs/sliders, Pazzo shorties..

I will be keeping my 2009 Triumph Daytona 675 as a commute/track Bike.

Stock they make 180 - 185 RWHP.. Which is BERSERK for a Motorcycle that weighs 440 lbs wet. With a full race exhaust system, piggyback ECU and a filter, they make in the region of 205 RWHP if you do it right... INSANITY!! Until you have ridden a modern day Sport LiterBike, you have no concept of how brutal these things are... In a recent test, they put a STOCK Kawaski ZX-10R up against an 1100 HP TT Ford GT in a 0-180 mph race (they also tested 7 or 8 other Bikes as well). TT GT went 0-180 in 22 seconds... the stock ZX-10R did it in 17. This BMW does it in 15.x !!!! Stock 1/4 mile is 9.5x @156 mph.
