1/4 mile drag tire question

I am planning to run some drag radials on my 996 TT at the drag strip and was planning to just run the drag radials in the rear. Just wanted to get some thoughts on whether just running the drag radials in the rear would be fine and also for you drag guys out there what your tires set up are. Any info would be great. Thanks!

be careful that the DR's aren't taller than the front tires. both front and rear need to be very close in diameter or you run the risk of ruining the front diff.

that is a good point.

is it ok to run a drag radial in the rear and a regular tire in the front if the car is still AWD?

No, you must run in RWD

If you're going to run Drag radials definitely want RWD. You'll want to get some heat i the tires prior to making a run, normally a quick burnout will do.

18" Mickey Thompsons will do the trick. Are those CCW classics in your avatar? Do you have bigger pictures?
