Oh crap, it's time!!
BTW there is a GTR owner in Dallas with bolt ons claiming that he would crush any 996 based car.
Someone tell him there is a stock block 996 owner in Houston who will run him for money and yes we can videotape it
Here is his post....his screen name is Blake:
"I would be all over this in less than 3.2 seconds if I was located in California. I've got a car that's almost done getting a few bolt-ons. Shouldn't be that hard to manhandle a late model Porsche. Why is no one on this?
Beside the point, if I wanted to buy an old Porsche, I would have done so. A 996 is a great looking Boxster, but it's just so meh. This little "forum war" is utterly pointless. What have we learned? That a 996 with ECU and exhaust is just a little faster around some TV show's donut lap. OH GOLLY THEY REALLY GOT US!!!@!!!111!!11ONE In other news..."
Can someone hook us up?

Here is another:
"Welcome to the board, but realise something: most of us GT-R drivers eat 996TTs for breakfast and **** them out for lunch!
Bish"
The implication is that the only reason the Porsche won was the size (small) of the track).
Why don't we set up some head to head challenges....say some side by side racing at the Texas Mile in Goliad. I will do it anytime anywhere but for liability reasons Goliad may be better.

I've read all the post on the GTR forum, and all I can say is those guys have anger issues....they even called F1crazydriver a TROLL...
It's ALWAYS a good thing to congratulate the winner, and it is not humiliating to admit the defeat.
Approaching challenges with politeness makes them more enjoyable and fun.

was the GTR stock ? obviously i love the fact that the p car won but it has a flash and straight pipes, if the gtr is stock then it doesnt really seem true to the nature of the race, i thought the idea was to race stock vs stock ?
The bottom line is this. It doesn't matter how many modifications you add to a GTR, if you put it up against a well modded 996 turbo it cannot keep up, not to mention if the 996 is a lighter Gt2. They claim this to be a record run after blowing up their transmission on the last try. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mrr8UUuoNcE&NR=1
If a 132 trap is as good as it gets, then they have a lot of work to do. The car is too heavy; period.

They are actually already as quick or quicker than the 996/997 & faster Im pretty sure.. 9.6's @ 150+.. Dont be fooled the car is VERY FAST.. Its only 2 years old too.. They will be in the 8's @ 160 in street trim.. Something i dont see happening with a 996 or 997 anytime soon.. Maybe the PDK has hope..
Either way Congrats to the Porsche.. Nice to see it come out on top in the Battle!!!
