Fix rear wing solution
OK - done with my 997tt.
What a PITA. If you're just ditching the stock cylinders/rods for the ebwerks rods, you don't need the fancy pin-spanner tool to unthread the stock rods from the wing. Just put a screw or bolt in the hole and then grab a vice grip wrench and clamp it down and turn.
There seems to be some miscommunication on a few threads regarding which direction you have to turn the rods to unthread them from the wing. Several threads I read said to turn CLOCKWISE. Didn't work for my 997.1 - they unthread the usual direction - lefty loosie.

I just replaced my rams using the Porsche OEM parts. Was a very easy job and the cost from Sonen (around $1400) was not terrible. I was going to do the Techart rear spoiler/deck but what a price! Even the knockoff's are expensive after paint. In the end, my rams gave up after 12 years (my car is a 2001) and 38k miles so I think that is ok all things considering.
And to take them off you unscrew the rams by turning CLOCKWISE. You tighten them by turning COUNTERCLOCKWISE. The tool costs $23 from ZDMAK tools on ebay.

If one were to unscrew the rams while the wing was still attached to the rear deck lid then I can see how you might describe the unscrewing process as turning the rams clockwise.
Just sayin'.
I don't suppose that top piece can be machined to have the "slit" in it like the factory rams? I have an aftermarket "GT2 add on" wing, and the inserts are not removeable to swap with the factory ones.
Is this the hardware of interest? I like it, sure as heck beats the hydraulic set up and the $1500++ GT2 option.

A word of caution on the fixed wing solution, if you go with certain aftermarket wings (such as Misha) it won't work. I made that mistake. The fixed wing is a screw type design to mate with the wing which works with the OEM stuff because the pin connection is an adapter that can be removed with a 14mm hex screw ratchet bit.
In no way am I saying either the ebworks product or the Misha Wing aren't good. I've found them to both be top tier quality, they just don't work together so the fixed wing kit is now a pretty paper weight.
