Noob requesting some help :)

Hi, just purchased my first porsche, a mint '03 996 Turbo and looking to do some basic mod's to it and wanted to get some advice from the experts. Just had a couple minor mods done, an FVD Brombacher ECU flash, billet diverters. Having a set of KW v3 coilovers installed to stabilize suspension.

If my goal at this point is to increase low-end torque (vast majority of use will be street), how would you prioritize modifications and don't want to go crazy on $$.

Thanks for thoughts in advance! wonderful forum btw!

I'm new to this great forum also, but the sentiment seems to be "minor mods, sure. For the first month."

Congrats on the new TT! Do you have an exhaust yet to help her breath? After that you're on to turbo upgrades. Several suppliers with upgrade kits for you and depending on quick spool or big HP there are several options.

My next mod is suspension then enjoy it for another year. Doing first track day in two weeks- can't wait!

Don't have the exhaust done yet, just want to make sure I optimize that with whatever else is needed (i.e., intake, etc.) and that I in theory stick with the same manufacturer.

I'm assuming I can reflash from FVD other upgrades/changes made...

All I've done to mine is the FVD flash K&N drop in filter and an Orton exhaust that the cats are gutted. Was only getting .8 bar after the flash but since then I tightened down my waste gates and now I'm getting faster spool in lower rpm's and hitting 1.0 bar in higher gears. Still running stock diverter valves and have stock k16's. Trapped 122 mph speeds in the 1/4 before tightening waste gates.

You've got to be careful with you boost because if you don't increase the fuel delivery you'll run lean and hurt the motor. The gurus on the board do state that there is no benefit to running over 1.0 BAR as it's wasted on the K16 turbos.

The speed is fun, but if you don't have good air/fuel ratios, your car won't live as long as it should.

The stock intakes are good for all the easy mods: flash and exhaust. Only when looking for BIG hp do you need intake mods.
