Damn another option I missed! Kinda like the joke going around

Now that's funny.........and unfortunately true.

So pre-2004 the turbo script was an option? I couldn't find it here. Thanks.

How difficult are gauge faces to install? How long does it a pro who has done it before?

I'd love to get some silver gauge faces.

If you have a 2005 Turbo S and your gagues are colored (red, yellow, silver or?) than you do not have the "S" next to the Turbo. This is because your car was assembled with left over parts from and earlier production run.

I attached two pictures one which is from my Yellow Turbo S Cab that I purchased new in 2005 with Yellow gagues. The other picture is of a standard Turbo S gague cluster that has the "S" logo.

I liked that you used my picture. I wish mine had the "S" on it. I have these two pictures because when I purchased my car in October of 2005 there was only two new Turbo S Cabs left in the US. Both pictures were taken when the cars were on the showroom floor. At t hat time they wanted $10,000 over sticker.

not difficult - about an hour to complete. The most difficult part is removing the hazard switch assembly:
  • take pictures of needle cluster faces to document needle locations
    • I do this with the cluster plugged in and the power on
  • unplug hazard switch
  • remove screws holding cluster to dash
  • unplug cables from back of cluster
  • remove cluster from car
  • remove 2 buttons from cluster (clock and brightness)
  • remove clear plastic lens assembly from cluster electronics
  • carefully remove needles
  • remove old gauge faces
  • add new gauge faces
  • replace needles (refer to pictures for proper locations)
    • plug in cables and turn car on to ensure needles are in proper locations
  • reassemble and reinstall
  • enjoy
let me know if you have any other questions

My 03' X-50 has the white faces that came as an option. They do not have the "Turbo" script.

I just installed a sticker I bought off Ebay. Just do a search for "Porsche cluster sticker". Less than $10 and a lot cheaper than buying a new cluster
