GT2 wheels (watt?)

Does anyone have a list of wheels that are available in stock GT2 sizes and their respective weights? Im looking for a super light, very strong wheel that does't look terrible. They will be wrapped in some Pilot Sport Cups as soon as they are available. So far i guess the best i've found are the Fikse Profil 10 and 13. I believe the fronts are about 20lbs and the rears are about 23. Anything lighter? Anything better looking and just as light?

Thought about this too, but always worried slightly about the amount of effort Porsche put into marketing the fact that the aerodynamics of the turbo and GT2 wheels are designed to maximise airflow and brake cooling. Could be largely hype, but I'm conscious that that the standards set on design and engineering undertaken at Porsche is verging on ****, and I just wonder if aftermarket wheels might compromise this?

don't see the Le Mans cars using OEM style wheels

In fact i believe the GT3R that won Le Mans was running a race version of the Fikse Profil 13

Ok, ok, pure marketing it must be then, and aftermarket suppliers ultimately have the same design criteria as the big boys. Suppose RUF don't have the testing facilities that PAG have either, but that's not going to worry you watt, huh?

we don't really slam it like you on the streets. Most of our truly spirited driving is on the track where obviously potholes and such are not an issue. The car is driven in the city however, so magnesium wheels or anything really fragile wouldn't work.

Are there any pictures anywhere of Wilburs wheels? Did you get weights and price quotes? I'm going to hold off on buying the wheels until the Cups are out anyway so i have time to really research and make sure i'm making the right decision. I also personally think the Fikses are kind of ugly but weight is a much higher priority.

Just joshing - my natural aversion to changing god-given (or PAG) creations in any way, as per any number of earlier posts, versus you not only discussing aftermarket wheels but talking about chopping your GT2 for an Rturbo. My faith is crumbling...

Steve:

Just about any wheel you get will be lighter than the solid spoke GT2 wheels -- they weigh almost as much as the RUF wheels. Factory GT2 wheels weigh 28 lbs. and 33 lbs. front and rear, respectively. Fikse profile series wheels weigh less than the other high quality forged multi-piece street compatible wheels (read..not race magnesium), but not by much. You can go with Kinesis or HRE reverse lip wheels in 18" GT2 offsets and only give up approximately 1-1.5 lbs. of weight per wheel. You would still save a significant amount of unsprung weight as compared to the stock GT2 rims.

Like I said before, for me it's gonna be either BBS, Work, or Cargraphic (forged).

In gold centers, thank you very much.

Yes factory wheel will also make the driver lighter too. Every time you look at them, you will puke all your food out, therefore making you a de facto bulemic. It's all a ploy to get the lightest weight possible.
