V1 question...What is the "J"??
I can say that I have had Valentines since they were first produced (and before that when they went under another name that starts with an "E").
The product has been incrediible and the customer service unparalleled. In fact, I once called really early in the morning and spoke with Mike himself who was answering the phone regarding an earlier upgrade.
I wish all of my companies were as well run and responsive as Mike's!!

Mike, Are their any plans to produce a Laser blocker/Scrambler to work with the V1? I am constantly getting nailed by hand held Laser even with my V1 my reaction time is not Laser fast, LOL. I am very happy BTW with how many times it has saved my behind, but I think I need even more protection.

Jamming crosses over the line between early warning and electronic combat. It doesn't fit my philosophy of doing business.

I see a new marketing idea! You lease a V1, and everytime you're elated about how it just saved your butt, you push a button, it wirelessly charges $10 to your credit card. I've had a few where I would have pushed the button twice (triple digit speeds).

I recently upgraded my Valentine 1 to include POP protection. Since then, on two occasions, I viewed a letter "J" on the LED readout during a radar warning.
Is this related to POP? Does anyone know what the "J" means??

If you send the unit in via FedEx or other overnight and choose the Overnight return option (for a nominal upcharge) you are out two days max - Valentine understands the need for quick turnaround.
BTW, Nice Ride Mike -- good to see that you are field testing with real equipment!!!

BCS996TT,
The Trailblazer/Envoy thing is caused by neon in the CHMSL. It's a tough nut to crack. The ignition repetition rate is in the many kHz range, which is far outside the normal laser gun rate. However, there is a "squegging" of the neon plasma that occurs at a hundreds-per-second rate that fools the laser detection circuits, since these events repeat in the expected time range for police laser pulses. We're working on this (and have been for years), but there's nothing to report as yet.
A growing-bigger problem now seems to be laser assisted "Intelligent" cruise controls on Infinity FX35, FX45, and QX56 SUVs. What a PItA. They perfectly replicate laser speed-gun signals. We're working on that one, too!

i have the lidatek with my v1 (just upgraded without hassle - thanks mike!).
only the v1 sets off when near infinity fx35 and them trailblazers...
the one time both the lidatek and the v1 laser detector went off, there was a bogey on wilshire!
