Report on PBK exhaust on my Tip

I know several 996TT Tip owners are interested in an exhaust that won't 'drone' - it seems to be more of a problem for us Tip owners. I knew PBK was giving a 30 day money back guarantee so I'd thought I've give their exhaust a try.

Early last week I called Ken as I needed a new exhaust. My stock unit was coming apart, I wanted something better but I didn't relish the idea of spending a ton of cash for an exhaust that made long trips intolerable, or droned driving around town. Ken answered all of my questions went out of his way to make sure I got the exhaust to my mechanic by the next morning! I spent three great days at Putnam Park with the Kentucky PCA and I really love this exhaust. This is my only car, and I've been tracking it a bit recently - 19 days last year, 17 so far this year - so I have to live with every mod. This is one mod that you can do that will cause no second thoughts. The sound is excellent, a more throaty sound just off idle, a nice roar under full throttle, and no drone at any RPM cruising in town or on the highways with the Tip. The other track junkies waiting to pass me at Putnam, or who'd I'd just passed, were quite appreciative of my upgrade. Usually the Turbo just sounds like a big vacuum cleaner - now the sound is a lot more interesting.

Overall, an excellent mod that doesn't cost a lot.

+1 I rode with Kerry last weekend, and the car sounded great.

Thanks for this post. While I have a 6 speed I really think this exhaust will be right for me along with the EPL flash. Just getting the $$$ together. Will be trying it soon. Thank you again.

I also assume this exhaust looks completely stock. If so, that is a great thing for us in CA. Smog checks are getting more and more stringent these days. What are the Cats in this setup?

Absolutely loving this. I think you are going to generate a lot of sales in CA . And, this doesn't restrict flow up to 700hp? Perfect for all but the big power junkies .

How restrictive do you think your exhaust is when compared to Switzer who uses 200 cell cats one each side?
