I am not a Porsche guy though, I could not imagine not having the seat flopping around in the corners....or the rifle shot impact intrusions into the car. And putting my snickers in the center console would even be possible.....no thank you.
My Z06 was brutal, loud, shaky, obnoxious and always pissed off. I had a RPM built 3.90 rear-end and RPM T-56 with revised 5th and 6th gears (close-ratio like the ZR1). It was a fun car, and sexy as hell, but drove much differently than my GT2 does. I much prefer the docile (comparably)characteristics of the GT2 to the non-stop snarling attitude of the Z06.

Once someone becomes a "Porsche guy", it's very difficult to go back.

I have yet to drive a GT2, to me the 996 and 997 TT that I have driven were too tame. That car is a beast, I wonder if it would run close to the GT2 RS on a power track.

I would bet that with a proper suspension setup and the same tires, it absolutely would. At least that's what my tuner/builder told me, and he won his class at the 2006 24 hrs of Daytona.

Plus you have more power, it is just insane that Porsche built such an amazing car and left so much capability on the table!

My fuel system (pumps) is my limiting factor right now, as it's only good to a little over 800rwhp.

I may upgrade it later and 'maybe' even go with bigger turbos...but for now, I just want to enjoy the car.
Yes, I made 815 RWHP on 60 pounders. I am selling my last fuel system with 80 pounders if you are interested.
Congrats

A built Z06 is always pissed off. It feels like it is angry and pissed at the world when you are driving it hard.

I'm really happy for you Scott! Sounds like the perfect set-up! If/when you look at your fule system again, check out e85 (if it's local for you) and do the switch. I absolutely love running it! My GTR runs so damn cool on it too- coolant temps never above 182 even in the 93 degree weather today....

Thank you, my friend.

Eric and I were talking about this other day...if I had E85 anywhere near me, I would absoutely be running a E85 setup.

Unfortunately, there's only one station in the entire state of VA that carries it and it's 3 hours away.

It sounds like your car is a beast. How much HP are you typically running on the street? PM if you want...

That sucks. My pump is 20 min away and pretty much on the way for most of my driving. But I only have one around me and worry about if it's ever empty and I cut it too close.

I run it normally at 24 psi, which should make a bit over 750. I've got about 2k miles on it so far, and love it. Tym still needs to some minor programming, but I won't give it back to Tym to let him finish it!

These cars would be a blast to run from a 40 roll. Hopefully you'll be able to make TX next spring?

That's almost exactly what I plan on running on the street: 23 psi on 100 octane, app. 740-750 rwhp. I have 100 octane at the pump 10 minutes from my house.

If I do make it to TX next year, I would love to run you. Great match-up. But knowing you, I better not show up with 'only' 100 octane in the tank.
