stock wheel? offset plays a role in whether tire will rub or not. you shouldn't have any issues though.

i run a 315/25/19 and there is no rub at all. my mickey thompson drag radials are 305/35/18 and there is no rub even though the tire is taller (35 vs 30)

Check for rubbing behind the rear wheel where the wheel well liner covers the intercooler hose. You may need a 7mm{1/4"} spacer to clear that area. That's what I had to do with stock wheels and my car is lowered. Fronts will rub at the front of the wheel well if your caster is too high. I'm using 245/40/18's up front but had my caster lowered to allow for it.

I am running 315/30 and 235/30 Toyo R888s on stock rims with no rubbing, hitting or any issues at all. My car is lowered. If I measure from the ground to the top of the wheel well 25.25 inches on front and 25.75 rear approximately.

It will fit fine. Lowered or not. You can even add 7-15mm spacers rear (21mm if you roll the fender) and 7-15 mm spacers front. I run a 255/35 tire on my stock fronts.

Anyone mind if I revive/hijack this thread?: ) After reading another recent post of a member with mis-matched tires and sizes, I decided to do my homework and check mine. Well, it turns out I'm a bit out of spec according to the .3" rule. 235/40/18 front, 295/30/18 rears. according to a handy calculator I found, I am .433" different between the front and rear. I am going to have this corrected immediately.

I am thinking of getting new rubber all the way around and going with 235/40/18 up front still, 315/30/18 out back. My car is lowered quite a bit.

Ari, or anyone else that might be able to chime in with that size rubber on a lowered car, no problems out back either I assume? I know you said you are running 255/35 on your stock fronts, what about the rears? I am not using stock 18" wheels, but for now I am assuming the offset on them is the same. Given that, I should not have any rubbing issues with the sizes I am looking to run in back, correct? (I already know the fronts are fine).

OR, should I just make it easy on myself and you guys and go back to stock sizes all around?

Last question, since I am out of spec by so much, is there any way to for me to check if anything has been damaged on the car because of this setup? Gulp!

Thanks guys!

Justin

Someone slap me if I am not understanding this correctly. Bailey, you are running 235/30/18 front, 315/30/18 rear, doing the math this shows a diameter difference of 1.89". Something is not adding up. Are you sure the tires are not 235/40/18 in front? Thats what I currently have on my car.

You can use tirerack.com to get the circumference of the tires... I doubt a calculation will be accurate...

I had some rubbing with 315 Hoosier R6 in the rear with stock twists and no spacers. If you run those, will have to do 7mm spacers - too much spacer and you will have to roll the fenders...

Hey Chad, whats happenin' buddy. Good point, I'm just using the calculator I found here as a general guideline. I'm hoping I can get this all figured out and just place an order with my installer, I really don't want to have to go through trial and error to make them fit properly: /

Sorry, you are right. 235/40 on front 315/30 on back.

Yes, these are 0.4" off (based on mich PS2 specs) which is 4 TIMES the factory mismatch.

Brings you down to 0.1" off, which is stock spec (these are the GT2 stock size tires)

Tire fitment is a function of size AND wheel offset. Any discussion on "mine fit" and "mine didn't" must specify the wheels used to be of any use. IMO
