Yes, I have never hid that fact on any board that I have been on. When my family (wife, kids, and I) moved back to VA we were luck enough to find a house in the same neighborhood as my parents. My father was in remission from lung cancer and decided to purchase a ZR1 in '09. He lets me drive it pretty much when I want. I did the 2 day driving school that comes with car because of his health, even though I am already an HPDE instructor for NASA. I have done all the drag racing in the car and was the first to put a bone stock ZR1 into the 10s. I think that qualifies me to speak to the performance of one. If I was not putting 2 kids through private school I might consider one now that the prices are coming down. Is this a problem? I will take it out of my sig if you like.

I don't know what to tell you. The ZR1 is a very fast car, no doubt. But it seems that the GT2 RS is faster.

Lastly, I'll be more than happy to lower the boost on my car to what the GT2 RS should be putting down based on it's 'claimed' crank HP (540-550'ish rwhp), and we'll do a few runs against your Dad's ZR1, pump gas to pump gas, and get it on video. My car weighs app. 150 lbs more than the RS does, but I'm happy to give that advantage. Let me know.

Yeah I think that could be arranged at some point when I can get out. I have not made it out to the local car stuff much lately. Too much family stuff, but we can try and set something up. Maybe let it get a little cooler. :)

I love the ZR1 and would have one if I had the room in the garage. Worth every penny. The GT2RS is a monster but too expensive.

In the race video, the ZR1 was giving a LOT of ground on the shifts.

I thought the ZR-1 had no lift shift assistance?

Only the 2010s+ when you engage the launch control. The jury is still out on the launch control for the ZR1. I still think at the srtip, if it is well prepped, that launch control off will get you a better launch with a good driver. I have yet to see a '10 pull a better 60' time on stock rubber.

I think the point is that we should all own both cars! At least that would be my solution. :D

Absolutely! Funny.. I was taking the kids to a birthday party on Sunday and drifted into the other lane while checking out a black ZR-1 that came screaming by! I got screamed at by the wife 2 seconds later! hilarious

As mentioned I had a Z06 that I absolutely loved. I tend to like all sorts of cars including Porsche. I can appreciate all sorts of brands hence the reason I don't get too involved in the pissing contests.

I'm a fan of the Corvette. Bang for the buck, it (along with the GT-R) is the best sports car with a factory warranty you can buy. I have nothing bad to say about it at all.

Anyway, regardless of price differential, I'm very impressed with the GT2 RS. That's the point of this thread.

Chevy put the same interior in the C6, Z06, then ZR-1 and someone actually thinks they will EVER get an interior right. Maybe if they let Caddy design it then source it out to somewhere in Europe maybe, but they haven't even made a step in the right direction with the interior.

And yes, I agree on the rest of the car too.
