GT2 RS vs ZR1 0-300 km/h data

Thought this was interesting:

GT2 RS:
0-100 km/h - 3.5
0-200 km/h - 9.8
0-300 km/h - 28.9
100-300 km/h - 25.4
200-300 km/h - 19.1

ZR1:
0-100 km/h - 3.2
0-200 km/h - 10.3
0-300 km/h - 32.6
100-300 km/h - 29.1
200-300 km/h - 22.3

As you can see, the ZR1 reaches 100 km/h first (nice launch in the ZR1), but after that the GT2 passes it and continues to increase the gap all the way to 300 km/h. Great car!

Yes, but look at the cost differential. I love my Porsche, but they will eventually get the interior of the ZR1 "right" and when they do, it will truly be the a supercar bargain.

You think Chevrolet will eventually get the Corvette interior right? How about the rest of the car? Build quality near that of Porsche? If so, you are very optimistic.

I'm a fan of the Corvette. Bang for the buck, it (along with the GT-R) is the best sports car with a factory warranty you can buy. I have nothing bad to say about it at all.

Anyway, regardless of price differential, I'm very impressed with the GT2 RS. That's the point of this thread.

The Vette is a good entry level SPORTS car, but it will NEVER be a true super car. I call it the white trash super car for the people who try to compare it to Ferraris, Lambos, etc.. Just because it maybe faster in a straight line doesn't make it a "super car"!

have had 6 corvettes but every time i see one it's drivin by an old blond with a cig hanging outa her mouth, if it's a guy they usually have not had a shave in a few days... this is not always true but seems to be the norm in ca

I have had 1 myself. It was a 2000 Hardtop Vette (body style of the Z06, but the LS1 motor). My brother Lil Powell has a 99 Hardtop that's HEAVILY modded. I almost bought an 07 Z06 when I picked up the Porsche, but I just didn't want another Vette. I wanted something you don't see everyday. I swear to you, one afternoon about a year after I go the Porsche I went on a 30-45 minute drive to go see a friend, during that period I saw 6 new Z06s and like 5 standard Corvettes. You know what I didn't see? One Porsche, not even a Boxter.

still impressive the porsche pulls that hard on it up top. nonetheless both great cars

Obviously I would rather have a Porsche, but i doubt you can beat the power deliver of the supercharged V8. Turbo lag will always be there.

How much is 997.1 GT2 these days? I bet prices have plummeted. I think I would rather have that + $$ + mods

I see several turbos, tons of Pcars and the odd Gt2 driving 8 miles to work...

I ran the ZR1 TVS roots blower on my built Z06. Power was always there and it made 660rwtq at only 2800 rpm. A true beast. That said, I prefer the delayed hit of boost that a turbo gives you.

You can get 997 GT2s in the $120s-$130's.

We did couple of 100-200 and 200-300 on the 997 gt2 file that i sent u

We r still ALMOST as quick as stock ZR1!! I though the ZR1 has better 200-300 than stock 997 GT2!

slavik Jul 24, 2010 07:50 AM

the gt2 rs has some impressive numbers indeed...

Wow, it's comments like these that make me wonder whether I should have bought a Porsche. I hate the idea of being associated with pompous, narrow-minded people that think that an American car can't possible be as good.

Need I remind you of the times of the ZR-1 and CTS-V around the 'Ring? Pretty sure that is not just a 'straight line'.

Personally, I loved my C6. So much better looking than my 996TT. The only reason I downgraded to the P-car was so I could use it in the snow as my winter beater :)
