CPO Warranty Extension

CPO Warranty Extension
Guys, looking for some insights or experience on extending my CPO warranty...bit confused based on what I've read vs heard from my local dealer.
Background: Just purchased a 2003 996TT, now with 9,100 miles...clean bill of health and near showroom condition. Car is under a Porsche CPO warranty till 11/11.
Just for grins, I asked my dealer if I could extend the CPO before it expires and was told flat-out "no". Called Porsche USA customer service and they referred me to the dealer. Here's where I become a bit confused. Following cut from Porshe Web Site: "The Porsche Approved Pre-owned warranty is valid for up to 24 months. It is valid worldwide and can be used at any Official Porsche Centre. When extending Porsche Approved warranty services you are not tied to specific periods – on request, we will extend our quality promise at any time while your vehicle is under the original warranty or an existing pre-owned car warranty. The only condition is that the warranty requirements continue to be met."
So, am I getting the run around, or just not reading above correctly?

Uh, looks like they are extending a "quality promise".
There is NO "porsche" extended warranty. You will need an aftermarket (ie 3rd party) warranty. Skip it, bank the money- DRIVE THAT CAR- then mod it tastefully.
