i would consult locals for a good shop u might want to drive to a decent shop

id say 1500$ or less from an independant shop would be good

or you could take it to joe schmoes and wait 2 days for a squeaky clutch at half the cost. then pay again to have it fixed.....its worth getting it done the first time right

My dealer quoted $5k for replacing a stock clutch. $1700 parts and $3300 labor.

3300 labor? Maybe if they are pulling the engine and all for the job. It is a 6-8 hour job for an average experienced Porsche shop. Even at 10 hours it would be $330 hour for the price they are quoting you. 1500-2000 seems like a reasonable book quote for this job. It is rare to find a shop that will only charge what it takes in hours for a job like this, but you shouldn't get bent over either. 3300 out the door seems about right.
