Replacing the Nav CD Unit on a 2002 Turbo?

So, I'd love to keep the stock PCM interface on my 2002 Turbo, but since the Nav system seems totally worthless (no CDs), can I replace JUST the Nav CD Unit (the one in the center console stack under the PCM) with something else?

Would LOVE to put in the Sony DSX-S300BTX unit and have it be the CD input (I know I'd lose the CD changer, but I wouldn't cry... :P ).

Any thoughts on this? It's my understanding that the 2002 PCM is easily replaced so I thought I'd just pop out the Nav CD unit, stick in the Sony DSX, and connect it to the PCM via the CD changer input. I'm sure it's harder that I just said, but hopefully possible (and even more hopefully, not too much harder...) ?

Thanks. I know I'm asking a ton of questions. Please let me know if I should STFU for a while :P

Thanks for the link! I'll definitely take a look.

I am, however, looking to keep the stock PCM unit (the big nav/radio/cd changer/trip computer screen), but just replace the Nav CD unit below that (and above the AC control; and into which the Nav CD would otherwise be inserted). So the new Sony DSX unit would sit beneath the big PCM unit and be connected to the PCM unit via the CD changer connection.

I did read someone's post about how they had a SECOND receiver installed. I guess I should PM that person

FYI, here's the post for 2 head units, but not with the Nav. I'm guessing it wouldn't be too much harder, but I'll check with my local stereo shop...

If anyone else has thoughts/comments/suggestions, I'd love to hear them. Thanks again for everyone's help!
