EVOMS Stage I Kit Upgrade

Installed the Stage I kit from EVOMS this weekend. With help from my son total install took about 5 hours (most of that being the plug change) Relatively easy install but what great results. This is a daily driver and wont be tracked, and is stock, but the EVOMS kit has totally improved the driving experience. Pick up from about 2500 rpm is amazing. So smooth and effortless. Has made an already nice ride absolutely fantastic. Excellent value for money.

85 to 95 horsepower and a 105 to 115 torque gain with just a flash and the V-flow?

The k16s pick up a decent amount of HP with a flash.. I can't say it will be 90hp though, the intake, plugs, and MAF will do little to nothing for a k16 car.

Your exhaust is your your weakest link now- upgrade and let her breathe!

EVOMS Stage I upgrade

Hah. You must have been talking to my son as that is what he says. Thanks for the suggestion. May be in future plans but very happy with results without exhaust for time being

So you get - maf, plugs, air filter, and tune. That is a lot of stuff to get started. The exhaust is as important if not more then all that but you will get around to it.

You've started down a slippery slope, HP is more addicting the crack!

Agreed. What has surprised me though is the way the power comes on now. Smoother than stock and clearly a lot more responsive. Nice work EVOMS

I wonder what the most power you can get out of the stock K16s is?

Seems like you could get over 100HP increase using the stock turbos. That sounds like a good way to start. Perhaps an exhaust and some better intercoolers would be a nice way to be prepared to step up to some bigger turbos down the road.

I am also very interested in the EVOMs stage one kit.

It seems like that kit has a lot of parts that will come in handy if you plan to keep going farther with power mods, but overkill at current levels. For that MSRP, you can get a budget exhaust and flash from board sponsors, and have both faster spool-up and higher total power.

$$$

Flash and exhaust are the items of value...

Actually, it just came to me..

The stage 1 with the maf REQUIRES the person to stick with EVOMS in the future! No matter what else you do, you've got to buy all you items with the EVOMSIT programming...so it ties the owner to EVOMS for all future SW upgrades....and really ALL hardware mods.

Sure a few may mix and match, but most consumers will jsut take the EVOMS path.

Not saying that is wrong (necessarily) but might be why evoms wants that in their stage 1...

A

Marketing... it sounds better and more improved than "Flash only"

So to conclude: This kit "hp gains" are equal to Proto or EPL flash with exhaust but, lots lots more expensive ;(
