Been getting a CEL on my 2003 996 TT, and when it comes on, all guages fail, except gas guage. No AC either. When i punch it, and it hits 4-5k rpm, CEL goes off, and all things work again. After awhile it will come back on, and same thing, everything is off.
Codes read a faulty cluster, but does that sound right? Especially when it works everytime i floor it.
I'd hate to spend $3-$4k on a cluster and it is something else.

How are your voltages?? Wondering if your alternator/regulator is causing issues... Do you have a way to monitor voltages and track them?

 

How would you do that? Car starts fine, and all other electronic items work well.

 

That sucks Howie. You down south now? Did you get them to have a look at it?

 

Just got back last night. they're the ones that said it "should" be the cluster..
